The New Rights Canada Catalogue and IPR License
Now published once a year with more titles than ever before and free of charge for participating publishers, the new Rights Canada catalogue benefits from extensive print and web distribution at major international book fairs and other events, as well as greater visibility with international buyers through our partnership with IPR License.
Established in 2012, IPR License is a fully transactional rights and licensing marketplace. Rights listings on the IPR platform have been viewed by rights buyers in 185 countries across 161 languages. IPR License is a platform and marketplace for publishers to connect with others from around the world, and to facilitate the online completion of rights and permissions transactions.
This partnership with IPR License is free of charge for publishers who submit titles to the Rights Canada catalogue and without obligation.
Rights Canada Titles and IPR Accounts
In addition to being promoted on the Livres Canada Books website and social media, titles in Rights Canada catalogues are now featured on the IPR License platform through online accounts for participating publishers. Titles submitted for the catalogue are searchable by international buyers through these IPR accounts, as well as being featured in various IPR marketing initiatives, including e-bulletins, digital and print magazines, and on the IPR blog and social media.
Publishers who participated in the 2017–2018 Rights Canada catalogue and who are submitting new titles in the 2018–2019 edition, or who wish to resubmit last year’s titles, can keep all titles on their IPR accounts until July 31st, 2019. After that date, there will be a 5-title limit favouring the titles included in the 2019–2020 catalogue.
The accounts of publishers who are not participating in the 2018–2019 edition of Rights Canada will be deactivated after July 31st, 2018 to keep the listings consistent with the new edition of the Rights Canada catalogue.
Livres Canada Books is proud of our partnership with IPR License and we hope you will take advantage of their many services.
