Luis Horacio Nájera is an award-winning journalist who fled to Canada in 2008 after receiving death threats for reporting on drug cartels and corruption along the U.S.-Mexico border. Despite completing two master’s degrees, publishing in national newspapers, and co-authoring three books while in exile, Nájera still struggles with unemployment.
